POLYOLEFIN hot melt adhesives

Originally, EVA is the most widely used raw material for the well-known hot melt adhesives. Today, polyolefin is often seen as the base polymer of the future for most hot melt adhesives, for example in the packaging and wood industries. Sometimes we also speak of metallocene hot melt adhesives. The term metallocene has more to do with the manufacturing process of a polyolefin. A hotmelt adhesive can therefore be based on a polyolefin that has been produced with the aid of a metallocene.

Advantages of polyolefin hot melt adhesives

Compared with the standard EVA raw material, the polyolefin has better thermal stability, better temperature range (resistance) and better bond area. The open time of a hot melt adhesive based on polyolefin also sometimes offers the opportunity to be used as an alternative to pressure sensitive hot melt adhesives for assembly applications.
